Sad reminders about flu’s deadly toll this season

Some very sad news from different states about the flu, starting with Ohio, where a 9-year-old died over the weekend from the flu; he had asthma and got the vaccine. His parents donated his organs and are still urging people to get vaccinated.

Our sympathies are with them. As a parent of a child with asthma, I can't even begin to imagine what they are going through:

It's not too late to get a flu shot – the season runs until April.

    Allison, that is extremely sad … my heart goes out to the family. In Georgia, flu is widespread.

    Not sure on the numbers in Maryland, but I have heard of a lot of people getting sick from the flu in my area.  What a sad story, Allison.
