You would apply locally for state-funded health insurance if you qualify.   In most states, you can dial 2-1-1… it is is the nationwide abbreviated dialing code for free access to health and human service agencies’ information.  They can direct you to what office you should go to in your county to apply.

Hi, MissWheezy89, I replied on another thread, but I'll repeat that info here as well.

For medications or co-pays, you may be eligible for help through .

AAFA also offers tips on what to do  medicines. The blog is a bit older, and so some of the funds they list may be out of date, but others are a possibility.

I agree that it could be worth your while to look into Medicaid. It has helped me a lot. I was afraid to apply for it because of the negative stigma around it, but then I realized I needed help and it wasn’t anyone else’s business. These programs are there for people when they need help, and if you need it, you certainly should get that help!!

Hufflinpuff, that's exactly what Medicaid is for — to help people who need that help! And I'm so glad you have coverage!

I agree with Hufflinpuff and Tiffany – there are states that have easier programs for Medicaid to enroll in. Others are harder, but it's still worth a shot.
