Eosinophils elevated … should I be worried?

Ok , so I had some labwork done and my doctor called with the results. He said my absolute eosciniphils were slightly elevated along with a slightly elevated ige? He said everything else is normal. He didn't seem concerned.I looked up my results. The normal range for eosciniphils was up to 0.4. mine were 0.5. Should I be worried?

Love this question, Micheleann … so I took the liberty of moving it into its own topic! I know that @Shea has already given you a great answer.

It sounds like you've done a very wise thing and discussed it with your doctor — that's awesome! But it also sounds like you're still worried. Could you reach back out to your doc — either now or when you see him again — and ask when he WOULD be worried? And also ask if he sees the need in monitoring your eosinophil levels?

I found your reply very helpful. Asking my doctor when he would be worried makes sense. Thank you. I think I need to make a list of questions and concerns and bring it the next time I see my doctor. I have so many questions.

I have found that having a short list of questions for my doctors' appointments really helps me keep on track and also helps me remember what I wanted to ask!  If I don't have a list, I revert to the "I'm fine.  How are you?  "  mode!

Great plan! I always make a list of things to discuss with the doctor when I see him. I also have a list ready when I speak with him on the phone.
