Thank you for your continuing efforts to help us with asthma and allergies!   Just took the quiz.  It is short and easy to take.

I did too-super short and hopefully it will help-thanks for everything you guys too to help us with asthma and allergies!  We would be no where without organizations like AAFA

I took it too. Unfortunately, my disease cannot be controlled on lower doses of prednisone than I am currently taking even with everything else that is out there. I have asthma as part of a greater chronic allergic immune disease called Churg-Strauss Syndrome. Even on the amount of oral prednisone I am taking (20mgs) my asthma is not considered well-controlled, but it is as controlled at the lowest dose I can be on without me ending up in the hospital and on another big dose with taper, and if I take anymore the other side effects from long-term prednisone use go up, so it is the best I can do for my health. You can't write that in surveys … which is why I do not like surveys so much.

Shea, I hear you on surveys … sometimes I find myself needing to say, "yeah but" on my answers.

Still, thank you for chiming in — and I know AAFA realizes that some people's asthma or disorders require a different level of steroids.

Thanks, too, to everyone else! Did any of the information or questions surprise you?

Just a reminder that this survey closes June 30 — that's in four days! Thanks to those who have already taken this survey!

Just took my first set of steroids for asthma this past week…two days after the survey closed.  It will be very interesting to read the results!!

Brenda-my asthma goes south so fast that I keep prednisone and I know the taper by heart-I start out at 80mg for 2 weeks and it's a 6-8 week taper.  it's ugly and i hate it but we've tried lower doses and faster tapers and they don't work for me-I end up with problems mid-taper and have to go back up.

Lynn, do you struggle when you are on steroids? I had to take them years ago for my neck before surgery and I really struggled being on them. I told my dh that 'roid rage was real. I then understood why Bekah and Josh had acted out when they had to take them for their asthma. I was an adult and felt like I could jump out of my own skin, let a lone a child that couldn't understand why they felt the way they did.

I do-can't sleep (most nights I'm up no later than 2:30AM when I'm on them), cry at the drop of hat and then get angry over nothing-it's AWFUL

I think my husband had been thinking about committing me somewhere. it wasn't pretty. Then he had to take steroids a few springs ago because he got hurt, he is diabetic and the dr wanted him on a stress dose of steroids. Oh my goodness, I prayed every day we all survived until he was done.

I saw a t-shirt once that said "prednisone-from princess with #%&* in one dose"-I thought it fit
