Anybody plan on Black Friday shopping?

Okay, so if I do any Black Friday deal hunting, it's gonna be at my computer and in my bunny slippers. But my DD and my sis are already planning on a big morning out.

What about you guys? Staying in? Or braving the crowds? I don't blame you if you're not up to braving the crowds!

I don't do any shopping other than grocery shopping during Thanksgiving week.  I dislike the crowds and craziness.  I don't grocery shop on the day before Thanksgiving either.  As a matter of fact, I am putting off some non-shopping errands because they are located in shopping centers.

Hear, hear! I love the Marshalls and TJ Maxx television ad saying how they will be closed for Thanksgiving — I'm glad! I feel like Thanksgiving, which was my favorite holiday BECAUSE it wasn't so commercial and BECAUSE it was so family-oriented, has been bumped out of the way by that rush to get the biggest and best Christmas gifts ever.

I hate grocery shopping the SATURDAY before Thanksgiving. I can't imagine having to shop the day before.

We grocery shopped yesterday.  Dh and I hit up Sam's Club in the am.  Dh and dd2 went to Food Lion last night.  Neither one was that bad.  I saw the Safeway parking lot this am (across from gym) and it didn't look too bad.

I'm pondering getting an air purifier for my office – that is where Ispend a lot of my time. I may look at the online deals for those. I'mnot sure I'm brave enough to check out any brick and mortar stores though.I do need to replace some of our bed pillows too. That will requiregoing to an actual store. That parking lot will be insanity!

@Gloria might be able to give you some tips on air purifiers if she's been given the green light to replace the one that was broken at her work.

All I know is that there are two types of air purifiers: the HEPA filter type ( which is more expensive, but also superior) and the electro static type. I have these and they are adequate, but noisy, emitting a high rattling sound. I have Honeywell.

Thanks Gloria. That's helpful.Years ago, we had a small unit but I can't remember much about it. It didn't seem to make much difference, but it was probably very undersized for the space. We had it in the family room, but that room is open to the kitchen and eating area.

I was at the Apple store about a month ago (you know how they are just one very big room). They had two HEPA purifiers for the whole store.

Interesting….I wonder what else they in their HVAC system as well. Our house is sooooo dusty! But it's not as bad as it used to be. There was a farm beside us, but the land has been developed with homes.I really need to cut down on the clutter to reduce places for dust to settle too.

Who's out shopping today?  I did buy some clothes online yesterday and bought myself a pair of dragon leggings at a Black Friday LuLaRoe in person sale today.  I wasn't going to go (been buying too much lately), but the event was held in the shopping center where I go to the gym.  Not too much Black Friday stuff 'happening in that shopping center, so figured I'd go.

Jen, dragon leggings sound awesome. Oh my, I feel like I may be a shopoholic. I have a problem!!! I went out Thursday night to get a lap top from Walmart… it was scary but not as bad as I thought because I was going in and out just to get the mad deal, so it was pretty quick although I could not figure out how to leave the store for a while because they had all these areas closed down and it was craaaazy busy. Friday I shopped online at Biglots and got a light up Christmas dinosaur, and a few presents, and free shipping. Saturday I think I took off.. i cannot even remember. And cyber Monday, today, I bought clothes for my son from childrens place, and for myself from old navy both online, and spent enough fir free shipping that is for sure. I am sooooooo done Christmas shopping now!!!! (my bank account agrees). But, I really think I got some good deals

I shopped from my couch … but then Saturday my DD and my sister dragged me out to an outlet mall. Crazy crowds! Thank goodness it wasn't one of those closed-in malls, though, as at least this way I could escape smoke and perfume by stepping outside.

Our one find was a Coach phone case/wallet for our step mom — it was half off, and just perfect for her (well, we hope — my sis and I went in on halves to get it for her.)

Dh and I did some shopping today.  LLBean has a sale and an extra 20% off.  We bought the oldest dd a fleece-lined flannel.  She's really been into flannel shirts lately and we figured this would work as a nice jacket.  I bought myself a new winter coat – got one that comes down to just above the knee – wanted to try something different.  Also got myself a nice, lightweight fleece jacket – I love those for when I'm running around in the winter and don't want a heavy jacket.

We may order some things from Under Armour  DD3 has a pullover UA hoodie that she loves.  We're planning to get her a new one, but I couldn't remember for the life of me what size she needs.  And she wore the hoodie to school today.  Will have to check later.
