Red Palms?

I don't know if this coincides with allergies or not but I am wondering if anyone else experiences this. I sometimes end up with really red and tingling palms; this goes along with my usual chest tightness, eye redness and coughing. For reference I am allergic to cats and live with 4 of them lol.

    Hi Carolicase! Welcome to AAFA!

I get red itchy palms when my allergies are bothering me or if I miss my dose of an antihistamine.

What are you doing to treat your allergies? How aggressive are you cleaning with having 4 cats?

For my allergies I'm taking my antihistamine twice daily (I've been trying to at least haha) and I'm using my extra inhaler that I use when my asthma is bad. I'm also taking my albuterol a couple times daily. Just today I started to take prednisone! I should clean more for the cats- I'm thinking of getting an air purifier.

Last year I had to switch to a different antihistamine. My previous one just wasn't working anymore. You could bring that up to your doctor. An air purifier is a great idea!

Hugs, Carolicase! Is this something new that has just started happening? If so, could you talk to your doctor about it?

And yes, absolutely, an air purifier may help you — it's helped many of our members. A good place to start your search for an air purifier is the asthma & allergy friendly™ Certification Program.

    Here's a quote about the program …

The asthma & allergy friendly™ Certification Program, administered by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) in partnership with the international research organization, Allergy Standards Limited (ASL), is an independent program created to scientifically test and identify consumer products that are more suitable for people with asthma and allergies. You can find certified products and services such as carpet cleaning, flooring, vacuums and more at

It is something kinda new! I think I think I will check with a doctor about it because it is weird haha. I just talked to my mom about getting an air purifier for the house! Thank you.
