Hair Dyes With Natural Ingredients

I have allergic contact dermatitis. I started developing rashes due to the hair products I was using (which I had been using for years). I finally found hair products that are ok for my skin (for the most part), but I now would like to find a semi-permanent hair dye that does not affect my skin. If anyone has a tip, please let me know.

Have you checked out any health food stores? Sometimes they will carry all natural hair products.

Are you looking for do-it-yourself hair dye or something used in salons?

I once had an allergic reaction to hair dye in the salon, and so since then, I’ve done a small test on my skin before using something.

For me, the “natural” semi-permanent stuff has worked (including henna-bases); but that doesn’t mean it would work for someone else. So the safest thing to do is not dye your hair; but the second safest is to follow the instructions for testing it on your skin before applying it to your whole head.

If you’re going to a salon, they can help you with testing their product before applying it.

Hope you find a solution that works for you!

Yes! That’s what I need to do. Test it on my skin first. You’re so right! This may seem basic to most, but it is my first time dying my hair ever. It may be bad timing, since I recently developed this allergy to some hair products. But I am getting older and I don’t think gray hair suits me well. I don’t have much, but being brunette, it shows. Going to a salon may be a good idea as well, as long as they use natural products (since they are used to doing this).

    Thank you so much!
