Dole Whip

I’m not sure I’m posting this question in the right area, so let me know if I’m doing this wrong.

My  almost 2 year old daughter has food allergies/sensitivities to gluten, dairy, egg, sesame, peanut, tree nuts, banana. She recently passed her soy food challenge. I have read through the list of ingredients for the fruit dole whips, and they seem to be ok? (There is coconut I know, but I use lotion with coconut oil and she seems to tolerate it fine.)

Has anyone with similar allergies tried dole whip? Any issues? Anything I am missing? She usually has a slushie when her brothers get ice cream, but I have to say I’m not crazy about the dye in it. She needs to be able to have a treat too though. Thanks in advance.

Hey, SaraM, and welcome! You may find more folks who are familiar with Dole Whip and its labeling practices on . But in the meantime, I'll try to help.

Coconut is technically a drupe, and not a nut, although the FDA classifies it as a nut.

Could you call the company and ask about their cleaning practices and the possibility of cross-contamination?

Here's a great resource on choosing safe foods on AAFA's Kids With Food Allergies website:

Thank you! I actually meant to post there but accidentally posted on this site. Good suggestions! Thanks so much!

SarahM, Are there places outside of Disney World and Disney Land that sell Dole Whip? I heard that some TCBYs were considering it, but haven't found any close by that see it.

Yes, Brenda, I am in Central New York and many ice cream stands have a rotating Dole Whip option! It is very popular here. I didn’t realize it might not be a nationwide thing. I wasn’t even aware it was in Disney lol.
